Knee Evaluation & Treatment Strategies

DATES:
TBC
TUITION:
TBC

The purpose of this seminar is to provide therapeutic exercises guidelines for developing rehabilitation programs for patients with various knee pathologies.

We will practice an algorithm based examination method for the special tests of the knee so as to efficiently perform the tests in a minimal time and improve the accuracy of the diagnosis. Furthermore, there are approximately 175 special tests of the knee published, so some of the best tests, based on the evidence (sensitivity, specificity, likelihood ratios, positive and negative predicative values) have been selected and utilized in this algorithm. The clusters of signs and symptoms also provide the clinical reasoning for using the tests that are described.

Upon completion of this course the participants should be able to:
– Recognize the value and importance of the “Bottom 10” knee exercises as the foundation for a rehabilitation program to work each link in the kinematic chain
– Evaluate and interpret Advanced knee exercises that be incorporated after a solid foundation is established for selected patients
– Analyze and apply the appropriate mobilization techniques for selective hypomobility conditions of the knee
– Evaluate the examination techniques that are appropriate to be used for a patient based on the clusters of signs and symptoms and clinical reasoning
– Synthesize the examination findings and organize the results into a treatment program to also be used for clinical outcomes
– Understand the clinical application of the examination techniques, therapeutic exercise interventions, and mobilization techniques (if appropriate).
– Perform the tests to evaluate the knee

The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Demystified with Dr. Guy Zito

DATES:
TBA
TUITION:
5.000RMB (4.000RMB EARLY BIRD)

Very little is taught on the TMJ in the physiotherapy undergraduate programs around China. The role of physiotherapy in the management of TMJ conditions is being acknowledged in this rapidly growing field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and there has been a lot of demand for continuing educations courses to upskill our clinicians.

Our honored to invite Dr Guy Zito who is an APA musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapist and a senior fellow of the University of Melbourne who has worked in both education and clinical practice for over 35 years to do a 2-day seminars conducted and workshop embedded in a scientific context and supported by current evidence-based practice and research.

Professional therapists can today receive this recognized certifications by Dr Guy Zito with the clinic in Shanghai. This certification will appeal to professionals wanting to expand their treatment techniques and students developing their expertise in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of temporomandibular conditions.

Physiotherapists are in the ideal position to make a significant contribution to the management of TMJ dysfunction.  With training in that specialty area they would be better equipped to meet the ever-increasing demands placed on them by the healthcare community and consequently could realize their potential to become leaders in that field.

AHA First Aid / CPR Certifications

DATES:
SEASONAL
TUITION:
1.500RMB (1.200RMB EARLY BIRD)

About 92 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital, but statistics prove that if more people knew CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), more lives could be saved. Immediate CPR can double, or even triple, a victim’s chance of survival. Everyone can save a life!

All participants that have demonstrated the capabilities and knowledge to undergo the training will be certified under our partners and the certification is valid internationally for two years of the date of issue.

WHY LEARN CPR?
– Cardiac arrests are more common than you think, and they can happen to anyone at any time.
– Many victims appear healthy with no known heart disease or other risk factors.
– Sudden cardiac arrest is not the same as a heart attack.
– Sudden cardiac arrest occurs when electrical impulses in the heart become rapid or chaotic, which causes the heart to suddenly stop beating.
– A heart attack occurs when the blood supply to part of the heart muscle is blocked. A heart attack may cause cardiac arrest.

WHO CAN YOU SAVE WITH CPR?
– The life you save with CPR is mostly likely to be a loved one.
– Four out of five cardiac arrests happen at home.
– Statistically speaking, if called on to administer CPR in an emergency, the life you save is likely to be someone at home: a child, a spouse, a parent or a friend.

WHY TAKE ACTION?
– Failure to act in a cardiac emergency can lead to unnecessary deaths.
– Effective bystander CPR provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival, but only 32 percent of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from a bystander.
– Sadly, less than eight percent of people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital survive.

NMES (NeuroMuscular Electrostimulation) with Heiko Van-Vliet

DATES:
TBC
TUITION:
TBC

NMES (NeuroMuscular Electrostimulation) training system of neuromuscular electric stimulation originated in Europe, and it is an independent and complete training system corresponding to resistance training, and it has sufficient basis of evidence-based medicine.

By simulating the electrical signals emitted by the nervous system during active motion, NMES training can achieve a similar and even more efficient training effect with active motion.

Through the adjustment of parameters, NMES can be targeted to the patient rehabilitation training, fitness training for healthy people, physical training for athletes, and can achieve pain relief, increase blood circulation or relax muscles and other effects.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Vodder with Philippe De Paepe

DATES:
TBC
TUITION:
TBC

The Vodder Method
Manual lymph drainage is a form of massage that aims to stimulate the lymphatic system. This stimulation is necessary to drain the excess fluid (visible and invisible edema) better or faster via the lymph tracts.

In 1932 Dr. Emil Vodder, a Danish biologist, together with his wife, created a revolutionary therapy for that time: THE MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE according to the VODDER method. The special thing about Dr. Vodder’s therapy is that it is aimed not only at draining the lymph system, but primarily at nourishing and purifying all body fluids.

The Manual Lymph drainage according to the Vodder method is a gentle form of massage and can be applied to the entire body. Its purpose is to stimulate fluid flow and to eliminate any stagnation, increase immunity (resistance), reduce stress and optimize the hormonal system.
The water management is directly influenced by the stimulation of the lymph system and indirectly by damping the increased stress level in the body.

There are only few schools worldwide authorized to certify professional therapists under Dr. Vodder’s MLD method (MLDV). Dr. Philippe De Paepe is the leading voice in Europe being his approach to MLDV now recognized as a primary tool in lymphedema management in medical and clinical settings all over the world.

Professional therapists can today receive this recognized certifications through seminars conducted by his school in partnership with the clinic’s THE CAMPUS and North Huashan Hospital (Rehabilitation Department) in Shanghai,The first Affiliated Hospital of Zhongshan University (Rehabilitation Department)in Guangzhou, Yizhuag branch of Beijing Tongren Hospital in Beijing. This certification will allow you to specialize in the treatment of acute and chronic edema (generalized edema, phlebedema, lymphedema, lipedema) with an extensive variety of medical conditions.
